Next Generation Clubs Australia Pty Ltd and its associated or subsidiary companies (NGCA) are committed to protecting and securing the privacy and confidentiality of your personal information. From 21 December 2001, NGCA is subject to the new privacy requirements as a result of amendments to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). In particular, NGCA must adhere to the National Privacy Principles (NPP’s) in relation to collecting, using, disclosing, securing, and allowing access to your personal information. By accessing NGCA premises and facilities, you are consenting to the collection of personal and sensitive information as required by NGCA.
Collection of Personal and Sensitive Information
NGCA will only collect information that is necessary for its function as a supplier of health, fitness and lifestyle services.
The types of personal information NGCA collects and holds generally includes:
Name, contact details (address, phone, fax, email, areas of interest, point of sales reference)
Credit Card details, bank account details, date of birth
NGCA and associated or subsidiary companies reserve the right to request any additional information necessary to establish and maintain memberships and account files.
Sensitive (health) information collected by NGCA includes:
Health information to assist NGCA in providing appropriate service and for use in situations where there is a threat to an individual’s health or life. This is in accordance with industry guidelines and codes of practice.
NGCA usually collects information through its representatives, who have obtained the information from you. Information is collected for the purposes of marketing, fulfilling NGCA’s contractual obligations to its members and clients, to administer sales, and to assist in completing the application process (eg membership application, PARQ form).
Use and Disclosure All personal and sensitive information provided remains the property of NGCA, subject to and protected by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). NGCA will not use or disclose your personal information other than for the purpose of marketing, fulfilling its obligations to members and clients, to administer sales, and to assist in completing the application process. NGCA will not sell, swap, or otherwise disclose personal or sensitive information to any third party. If the personal information is to be used or disclosed for additional purposes we will not do so without your consent.
Your personal information is usually handled by employees of NGCA, independent contractors, contracted marketing companies, or related/affiliated groups such as the Memorial Drive Tennis Club Inc. or the Royal King’s Park Tennis Club Inc. in accordance with strict Club guidelines and policies. After the collection of the personal and sensitive information from you, the information remains on Club premises and is recorded in electronic systems only accessed by representatives of the Club. The information is verified for completeness.
NGCA and its subsidiary or associated companies reserve the right to disclose to third parties, as per legal and statutory requirements under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), personal and sensitive information, and information gathered during your usage of Club facilities.
Data Quality
NGCA aims to ensure that the personal information that we hold is accurate, complete and up-to-date. To assist us with this, please contact us as soon as possible if you are aware of any amendments required to your personal or sensitive information. NGCA will take no responsibility for inaccurate information, which has not been updated by an individual in the event of a change. You are also able to access your information at any time to update, or correct, the information we hold on you.
Data Security
NGCA store and hold your personal and sensitive information securely through physical and electronic means. Electronic information is stored in private databases, not connected to the Internet. Although NGCA will use all reasonable efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of personal and sensitive information, we will have no liability for disclosure of such details through loss, unauthorised access, or unauthorised use by third parties. NGCA will also take action as required to destroy, or permanently de-identify, any personal information about you that we no longer require. Please note personal and sensitive information on any individual will not be sent outside Australia, unless specifically consented to by the individual so as to provide such information to an associated Next Generation Club.
Access and Correction
Under new privacy requirements you have a right to access the personal information that NGCA holds about you. NGCA will take all reasonable steps to correct any information you find inaccurate. Should we deny access and or refuse to correct your personal information, we will provide you with reasons that will be based on the grounds provided by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
